Member Behavior policy
-
While we play games together, the games themselves aren't really the point. The goal of Advance 3 Spaces is connection and inclusion — building a community where people, especially those in the ASD/AuDHD community, can show up as themselves and feel like they belong. Winning, losing, and house rules all matter less than making sure everyone at the table feels welcome. Our policy helps ensure that happens. This policy outlines the expected behaviors and the procedures for addressing any issues that may arise during organization-sponsored activities and events.
-
Treat all members, volunteers, and participants with respect, kindness, and courtesy.
Engage in collaborative and fair gameplay, and support a positive experience for everyone.
Listen actively and be open to diverse perspectives and ideas.
Follow the rules and guidelines of the games and events organized by Advance 3 Spaces.
-
A3S events are designed with the ASD/AuDHD community in mind. Sensory sensitivities, need for movement, stimming, and different social communication styles are all welcome and expected at our table.
If you feel overwhelmed, upset, or need a break at any point, you're free to step away from the table without needing to explain yourself or ask permission. A quiet space will be identified at each event for anyone who needs a moment.
Members and volunteers are asked to respect a person's need for space and not to follow or press someone who has stepped away, unless they've asked for support.
If you'd like specific accommodations for an event (seating, lighting, noise level, advance info on games being played, etc.), reach out to an organizer ahead of time and we'll do our best to help.
Fidget tools, headphones, and other self-regulation aids are always welcome at the table.
-
Harassment, bullying, or discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other characteristic.
Disruptive, toxic, or argumentative behavior that negatively impacts others' enjoyment.
Cheating, sabotaging games, or refusing to cooperate with other players.
Using aggressive or abusive language, both in person and online.
-
Members who witness or experience unacceptable behavior should report it to a staff member, event organizer, or board member.
The organization will address reports promptly and confidentially, taking appropriate action based on the severity of the behavior.
-
Violation of this policy may result in:
A verbal warning.
Temporary suspension from events or activities.
Revocation of membership for repeated or severe violations.
-
Members may appeal disciplinary actions by submitting a written request to the Board of Directors within 14 days of the action. The Board will review the appeal and make a final decision.
-
All members must read and acknowledge this policy as part of their membership application or renewal process.
